The Confluence Art Group
After I graduated from the College of Saint Rose
I missed having a community of peers and mentors
who shared my passion and commitment to making
art. I founded The Confluence Art Group in March
of 2008 and it has been steadily growing ever
since.
The group meets once a month at a local coffee
shop in Albany. Participants bring artwork,
concepts and ideas to share in an informal
dialogue. The intention of the meetings is to
discuss and critique current projects in order
to gain feedback and insight from multiple
perspectives. It is an opportunity to present
and share work with an eclectic and dynamic mix
of both professional and emerging artists. From
a seventy five year old sculptor to a
sixteen-year old photographer, every age and
medium is represented. There are currently over
forty members.
Confluence Group Shows
I host and curate a monthly art show at Judy
Rosen Real Estate Office located at 352 State
Street in downtown Albany. The show is never
the same. Each month there is at least one
artist who has never publicly displayed their
artwork. The shows are networking opportunities
to expand the Confluence group by meeting new
artists. The first show was in August 2008.
As of June
2009 I also organize and present exhibitions at
the 440 Art Center Lobby of Proctors on State
Street in Schenectady.
